Warning after thieves target vulnerable man in Swinton

Police in Salford are warning local communities to be aware after a man on a mobility scooter was robbed in Swinton.

At 10.45am on Tueday 21 September the man was on Lees Street when he was approached by two men and a woman in a large black car asking for directions to the hospital.

The woman got out of the vehicle and attempted to put a ring and bracelet on the male, in doing so she stole the man’s own gold bracelet.

The offenders have been described as ‘foreign’ with tanned skin and in their 30s. Both men were reported to be wearing dark suits and ties and the woman was wearing a multi-coloured head scarf.

GMP Salford West posted on Facebook: “Please be vigilant as the offenders appear to have chosen the victim due to his vulnerability.”

Officers are now looking for anyone who may be a victim of a similar offence to come forward.

Anyone with any information should call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
