At around 3.35pm today, Thursday 1 October, a schoolgirl was found by lying in the street outside Eccles police station on Hardy Street, Peel Green.
Paramedics are currently treating the girl for what is believed to be a head injury.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation.
“It appears a girl of high school age had been chased by other girls, fallen and banged her head.”
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to a possible assault, and as of 4.30pm paramedics were still at the scene.
