Delays expected on A580 East Lancs after two-car crash

More delays are expected on the roads in Salford this afternoon after a crash in Boothstown.

At around 2.30pm today, Friday 22 January, two cars – a blue Renault Megane and a black Vauxhall – collided at the junction of Leigh Road and the A580 East Lancs Road.

One person was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Greater Manchester Police’s traffic unit are at the scene managing the situation.

Debris was left scattered across the carriageway.

The Manchester-bound A580 was blocked by the accident and delays are still ongoing.

It follows an earlier accident this afternoon on the M60 between Junction 12 for Salford and Junction 13 for Worsley, where a woman was trapped in her car underneath a lorry.
