AFC Monton Club report

Match report by Ron Hodkin

FBT Manchester League Premier Division
Old Alts 0 AFC Monton 2

AFC Monton travelled to newly promoted Old Alts and ran out as worthy winners on the day with a solid squad performance and a brace of goals from hot shot Adam Tse.

The Ammies started brightly and managed to maintain a fast, slick passing game throughout the first half without being able to find the elusive first goal but straight from the re-start Adam Tse changed the game with a well taken finish to give them the lead.

From then on it ceased to be a contest as Montons confidence grew and Old Alts decreased but it wasn’t until the eightieth minute that a second from the bustling centre forward wrapped up the three points for the Ammies. This new look Monton side are just starting to gel together and already the signs are looking good as the influx of experienced, speedy players are making their presence and character felt both on and off the pitch.

Overall three valuable points achieved with a good squad performance.

FBT Manchester League Division 2
AFC Monton reserves 1 East Manchester Academy reserves 5

AFC Monton reserves somehow managed to completely self destruct in this game and conceded five goals in a disastrous thirty minutes. A goal less first half in which Monton held the upper hand and should have taken advantage of three golden goal scoring chances came back to haunt them as their visitors ran riot in the second half and deservedly took the points.
