Beechfield United Juniors weekend results

Six squad players were unavailable for Beechfield United Under 17’s North Bury Junior League away game with Roach Dynamos but against their very physical opponents United continually matched Roach thanks to a confident and solid team performance. James Sinclair gave Beechy the lead but Roach Dynamos fought back and equalised to leave it 1-1 at half time. It was an evenly balanced affair throughout the second half and somehow Roach scored again to claim an 2-1 victory. Kondi Mututa was United’s Best Player.

The Under 17’s Sunday Team produced a stunning display at home to Heyside Milano and didn’t deserve to suffer a narrow 3-2 defeat. Mason Williams picked up the Star Player award and Jack Healey scored both goals for Beechy.

Beechy Under 16’s beat Longhey Athletic 2-1 away and celebrated their first win of the season. Bradley Wheeler opened the scoring and Mason Gregg added United’s second goal from the penalty spot. The Man of the Match award was shared between Kai Leonard and Harry Davies.

In action in the Bolton Bury and District League were the Under 15’s Tornadoes who should have been celebrating a comfortable victory over De La Salle Scorpions. It was hard to believe that United created at least twenty chances but found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-3 score line. Goal scorers for the Tornadoes were Joe Furlong (2) and Kurtis Taylor.

At Stott Lane the Under 13’s Tornadoes played De La Salle Reds and making a poor start Beechy conceded a goal after just three minutes. Jeanny Le Blanc fired in an equaliser but De La Salle soon regained the lead again. The goals continued to flow and Jeanny Le Blanc then Daniel Allerton were on target to put United 3-2 up. In the first half the Tornadoes never really got control of the match and found themselves trailing 4-3 at the break.

It was a different story in the second half as United stepped up a gear and dominating possession scored six goals without reply. Derryn Harrison got in on the act with a superb goal plus Leighton White and Dylan Barnes also netting a goal apiece but the star of the show was Jeanny Le Blanc who hit a second half hat trick bringing his personal tally in the game to five goals. Beechy who won this contest 9-4 are currently top of the Division 1 table on goal difference.

Despite the score line suggesting a close game the Under 12’s Storm (9v9) were in control for the majority of their Division 1 away game with Deans Sports Athletic. An in-form Beechy outfit secured a 5-4 victory but at times some sloppy and unorthodox defending allowed Deans far too many scoring chances. Straight from the kick-off United threatened to score during every attack and eventually took the lead thanks to a superb finish from Harry Gartley. Further goals came via an excellent strike by Billy Wadeson followed by a long range free kick from George Moorhouse then Harry Gartley scored again to put Beechy 4-1 up at the interval.

Deans Sports made a flying start to the second half and putting United under pressure pulled a goal back but Bobby Anderson scored a brilliant goal to make it 5-2. Full credit to Deans who didn’t give up and following another period of pressure got their reward with two more goals. Milo Marshall was the Storm’s Man of the Match.

United’s Under 12’s Tornadoes (9v9) still await their first victory of the season. In Division 3 Beechy were away to Kersal FC and despite a hardworking display United suffered a 5-0 defeat. Kersal FC were awarded a dubious penalty but the Tornadoes keeper Lucas Allen saved the resulting spot-kick. Late in the game Beechy had chances to score a consolation goal but they were denied by an in-form Kersal keeper. The Tornadoes Man of the Match was Jace Whale.

In their away fixture at AFC Monton Thunder the Under 11’s Thunder (9v9) were slow off the mark but were unlucky to be two goals down midway in the first half. Following a tactical change Beechy got a foothold in the match against their tough and well organised opponents. Prince Idusuyi got the opening goal for Beechy then Jake O’Sullivan fired home an equaliser but in the second half AFC Monton regained the lead.

United fought back and levelled the scores again via Jake O’Sullivan who guaranteed himself a third successive hat-trick when he hammered the ball past the keeper from the halfway line. AFC Monton found an equaliser and with a last minute winning goal ended a fantastic game of football. Dominic Lawton was the team’s Best Player plus there was an impressive debut by Christopher Pearson.

Beechy Under 11’s Storm (9v9) made it four games unbeaten when they played away against Swinton Junior Cobras. Ellis Craven received the Man of the Match honour while on target with goals for United in this Development Group Blue match were Bailey Lloyd and Adam Rothwell.

In the same Division the Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) entertained St Andrews All Stars and created a hard working all-round performance. Joe Hope with a superb volley following a corner and Man of the Match Ronan Courtney scored goals for Beechy. Ronan’s goal was the highlight of the contest when he skipped past three strong challenges before producing a brilliant finish.

Away to Swinton Junior Tigers the Under 10’s Storm produced a stylish display and celebrated with a win. Goalscorers for the Storm in this Development Group Green fixture were Man of the Match Tawonga Chirwa, Harrison Davies, Ben Delaney and Johnny Walsh.

Involved in an entertaining nine goal Development Group Red Division game with neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellow were Beechy Under 10’s Tornadoes. Jack Fitton and Star Player Kaiden McClean scored the goals for the Tornadoes.

The Under 9’s Typhoon faced a tough task when they met a very good Stretford Victoria outfit at home. In the Development Group Yellow Division Sonny O’Brien and Jamie Withington got the goals for Beechy while Freddie Latham was Man of the Match following a whole hearted display in defence.

Maintaining their winning start to the season were the Under 9’s Hurricanes. At home to Parkwyddn Predators in the Development Group Purple Division the Hurricanes secured another victory thanks to goals from Oliver Coles, Ben Morris and Georgi Georgiev. Collecting the Best Player award was James Taylor.

Enjoying a greater share of the ball were the Under 9’s Storm who met local rivals Moorside Rangers Red. Josh McLoughlin gave Beechy the lead midway through the first half but Rangers found an equaliser just before the break. Continuing to play some great football in the second half the Storm lads created numerous chances but the vital finish deserted them. Alfie Gee was the team’s Star Player.

For the second time in seven days the Under 8’s Tornadoes were faced with a 9.00am kick-off when they played Barr Hill Hearts. In a well contested game Barr Hill had the best of the first half but the Tornadoes were on top throughout the second period. Joshua Taylor who netted two goals also received the Man of the Match award and also on target for Beechy were Aiden Lawton and Joel Thorndyke.

Beech Farm Playing Fields was the venue for the Under 8’s Storm versus De La Salle Reds Development Group Blue encounter. The match produced eleven goals and finding the back of net for the Storm were Joshua Kilfoyle and Man of the Match Oliver Cowley.

Playing their first ever game were United’s new team the Under 8’s Hurricanes who had a friendly match with Moorside Rangers Yellow. In this 5v5 mini-soccer game the Hurricanes players were Ashley Tongue, Cobey McCormack, Jayden Walker, Brett Williams and Edward Lucas. The Under 7’s Tornadoes also had a couple of friendlies with AFC Monton and Deans Sports. Ellis Addison and Harry Jones fired in the goals against AFC Monton then Harry Jones who was voted Best Player by the parents hit a couple of goals against Deans Sports.
