A man is in hospital after being shot in Little Hulton last night.
The 34-year-old was found with gunshot wounds.
Officers were called to Coniston Avenue in Little Hulton at around 11.30pm on Monday 5 October to reports of shots fired.
The victim is said to be in a stable condition in hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police have closed Coniston Avenue in both directions and cordoned off the immediate area.
Greater Manchester Police are due to release an update on the man’s condition this morning.
Residents reported at around 4pm yesterday afternoon that armed police were circling the Gorse Avenue area and at one point closed off a section of the street.
Police made no further statement.
The location is around a quarter of a mile from where two separate houses were shot at in the past two months.

On 12 August a house around a quarter of a mile away on the small cul-de-sac of Thornfield Grove was hit by a shooting attack while a young family slept inside.
At least one bullet was fired through a first floor window.

Two boys age 17 and 18, and a 20-year-old man were later arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Police have not linked the incidents.
