Charity extravaganza Children in Need is back on our screens tonight at 7.30pm with Salford people all across the city joining in to raise money.
Offices, shops and schools have been getting involved throughout the day, raising money in different ways to do their part for the annual event.
Elaine Fox, 58, is the Community Champion at Tesco in Walkden.
Today she’s been collecting donations with toffees and snacks for customers and their children, as well as organising a fancy-dress day for staff.
Elaine told us the reaction from people in Walkden had been outstanding.
She said: “A lot of donations have been made today. It’s helpful to give back to the community and nice helping different charities in the area.
So far the store has raised £140 and will continue to collect money throughout the night, with all donations going direct to Children in Need.
Primary schools have been doing their bit too: Lark Hill Primary School on Liverpool Street in Salford took part with a superhero fancy-dress day and coin trail, raising an estimated £490.
River View Primary School also took part in a non-uniform day, with both teachers and pupils wearing their own clothes.
