Police have named a woman found dead in a suspected Salford murder as 36-year-old Sian Roberts.

At about 6pm on Sunday 29 November 2015 police were called to a property on St Helier’s Drive in Higher Broughton, Salford.

A Home Office post-mortem confirmed that Sian died from stab wounds to the chest.

Crime Scene Investigators cordoned off the quiet residential cul-de-sac on Sunday evening, with police remaining on scene throughout Monday.

It’s thought investigations are still underway to find the weapon used in the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Terry Crompton from GMP’s Serious Crimes Division said: “We are eager to find out what Sian had been doing and where she had been on the day of her death, so we would like anyone who was with her or saw her on either Friday 27, Saturday 28 or Sunday 29 November 2015, to get in touch.

“This is an extremely difficult time for the family and we want to give them the answers they deserve.

“We currently have a 36-year-old man in custody and we are taking our time to thoroughly question him to establish what exactly led to Sian losing her life.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 4711 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
