Do you want to improve your computer skills?
Salix Homes have teamed up with Inspiring Communities to run their award winning Connected Customers course to help their tenants brush up on their IT skills.
The free 10-week course, which has previously won an NFA Award, will teach tenants essential IT skills as well as tips and training on job searches, CV writing and interview techniques.
They will also teach you how to get to grips with the Salix Homes website, where you can report repairs, let us know about any issues and pay your rent.
Jackie Crook, their community involvement and new initiatives manager, said: “Whether people want to get a job, get connected or get a bargain, getting online can help them do it. It doesn’t matter if you know a little bit, or have never touched a computer before, we will be there to lend a helping hand.
“With the Government changes to the welfare system brought about by Universal Credit, there’s never been a better time pick up some digital skills and learn how to get online.”
The course starts on Friday, March 4 at St James Church Community Hall in Weaste and will run every week from 10am -12pm.
For every resident that completes the course and wishes to purchase their own computer, Salix Homes will also pay half of the cost of a recycled laptop.
