20-year-old charged with murder after man found stabbed to death


A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 58-year-old man was found at a house off Bury New Road in Cheetham Hill.

Adebanjo Adegboye was taken into police custody on Sunday after the victim was found fatally wounded on Jameson Close.

Paramedics called police to the scene at 1.25pm. Emergency medical teams tried to save his life, but he died at the scene.

The victim has not been formally identified but was named locally as Henry Adeboye.

A Home Office post-mortem examination confirmed his cause of death as stab wounds.

Police forensics teams arrived on Monday, while one officer stood guard outside the property were called to the scene.

Adebanjo Adegboye, who gave his address as Jameson Close has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 23 February.

Police said they were working to support devastated family members at a very tragic time.
