Time running out on EU Referendum: Register to vote now

There is only one week left to go to register to vote in the UK’s in-out EU referendum on Thursday 23 June.

It’s one of the most important public votes in the country’s history.

But people only need to take action if they were not registered in the local elections – or their details have changed since then.

Threads on social media, including Facebook, have falsley claimed that everyone needs to re-register to vote.

This is not true. Anyone who was already registered to vote (or recently registered) before the 18 April deadline for the local elections on 5 May will also be registered to vote at the EU Referendum and will be able to cast their vote.

If details have changed or you need to register to vote visit https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

If your details haven’t changed, you’ll get the normal poll card through the post telling you where your nearest polling station is.

Salford City Council also have a list of polling stations available on their website here
