Milkman injured as stolen car collides with float in Eccles


Police were called to Half Edge Lane, Eccles at 3.50am today, Thursday, 2 June, after receiving reports that a black Renault Megane had crashed into a lampost and then spun into a passing milk float.

The driver of the milk float sustained minor injuries and was taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed temporarily whilst police cleared up the smashed milk bottles in the road.

A man was arrested at the scene and charged with suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
