Missing Salford man Tex Ryan safe – but family still plead for him to come home

A Salford family has appealed again for local man Terence ‘Tex’ Ryan to come home after he was reported missing earlier this week.

It’s now emerged that yesterday evening, Tuesday 12 July, the 53-year-old appeared at Swinton police station to confirm he was safe and well.

Terence confirmed his identity, matched his picture to the SalfordOnline.com news appeal, and left Station Road of his own free will.

He is no longer technically missing, say Greater Manchester Police.

There have not been any reported sightings since then.

Police cannot detain someone if there is no crime suspected, or committed.

But family continue to express concerns for his welfare and plead with him to get in touch.

Son Jack, 27, said: “We want to appeal to anyone who he might be staying with.

“You might think you’re helping him out, but you’re really not.”

At 6pm on Tuesday evening there were sightings on Tootal Drive near Salford Royal Hospital, and Somerville Road in Duchy.

“I went round all the pubs in Eccles on Monday and he’d been seen there.

“He left without taking his wallet or mobile phone, he only left with the door keys.

“He’s got no money on him and no change of clothes.”

Tex, who started a new job as a chef at the Dockyard pub this month, is well known in the Eccles and Salford areas.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a hood, and blue denim jeans.

He was wearing black and white Nike Air Max trainers his son had bought him a few weeks ago.
