A man carrying what appears to be semi-automatic rifle fired shots at a Pendleton house while a family slept inside.
CCTV pictures culled from Citrus Way in Pendleton last week show a shadowy figure holding a long two-handed firearm, standing in front of the door of a house on the residential close off Churchill Way.
A woman and two children were inside the house at the time of the shooting, police say.
SalfordOnline.com broke the news here.
No-one was injured but bullets were fired at the front door of the house in a suspected intimidation attempt.
Pictures show the gunman standing beside a child’s trike in the front yard of the house as he holds up the weapon, which has a large ammunition clip.
He appears to be wearing a full-length grey or dark-blue boiler suit.
CCTV also captures the man running from the scene of the shooting.
Cllr John Warmisham, who represents Langworthy, said at the time that it was “extremely concerning” that children’s lives were being put at risk.
After the shooting, police also found a burned out Fiat 500 they believe may have been used by the attacker or as a getaway vehicle.
It was discovered on Hodge Lane, only 500 yards to the south of nearby Clarendon Park.
Detectives are trying to piece together motives behind the shooting.
Last month 23-year-old Leevon Birchall was stabbed more than 20 times in a frenzied attack on the same street.
