Watch: Pals speak out for ‘gentleman’ Jeff Storey at Eccles biker parade

Bikers from all over Greater Manchester gathered today, Thursday 2 July to pay their final respects to one of their fellow bikers from Eccles, Jeff Storey.

Jeff’s closest friends spoke passionately about this much-loved gentleman after he sadly passed away on Monday 22 June.

A longtime member of NABD, the National Association of Bikers with a Disability, Jeff was warmly remembered for his humour and kind demeanour.

His friends and fellow bikers assembled outside Carriages funeral parlour on Liverpool Road, Patricroft before the hearse led by motorcycle outriders drove around Eccles town centre and paused for a minute outside The Town Hall pub where Jeff and his friends had spent many a happy hour.

The convoy then proceeded to Peel Green cemetery for a humanist service.

SalfordOnline.com spoke to pal Brian Wadsworth who told us: “I have been a mototcyclist for over 43 years now and some of my earliest memories are ones that I spent with Jeff.

“We would meet in the Bird in Hand at Patricroft as it was a bikers pub then, and I was warmly welcomed into their company.

“Jeff was a quiet bloke but he had a tremendous sense of humour.

“He was a kind, considerate, gentleman and a fellow biker and will be sadly missed by all of us.

“If Jeff was here today watching he would have been overwhelmed by the turn out which shows what a popular guy he was.

“I must admit we shall be having a drink tonight in Jeff’s memory, a good drink, and that is what Jeff would have wanted.”

If anyone would like to make a small charitable donation, they can do so online at Carriage’s Funeral Parlour and all donations will be split between St Ann’s Hospice and the National Association for Bikers with a Disability.
