Firefighters are tackling a large blaze at Safad’s Turkish takeaway in Bloom Street in Manchester city centre.
Seven fire crews and an aerial platform were called to the scene at around 11.45am this morning.
Bloom Street and Sackville Street are closed while around 45 firefighters tackle the fire.
It’s thought the fire broke out in the roof space of the two storey building before spreading to engulf the ground floor of the takeaway.
Greater Manchester Fire reported at 12.35pm that the fire is under control.

No serious injuries have been reported.
The service’s specialist Air Unit drone will now be flown over the roof of the building using a thermal imaging camera to identify hotspots where fire could break out again.

Station Manager Billy Fenick said in an interview at the scene: “On my arrival we had a severe ground floor fire and fire also on the first floor.
“Crews were inside the building offensive firefighting with hose reel jets. We’ve now ascertained that the fire is just in the roof void and crews are now working on ascertaining the size of that fire.”
