Police closed Manchester Road in Walkden yesterday afternoon after a man was hit by a car.
The 29-year-old man was struck by a BMW at around 3pm on Monday 20 July as he crossed the street.
Eyewitnesses saw the man lying in the road and feared for his life, but police confirmed this morning that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him by ambulance to Salford Royal hospital as a precaution.
The BMW driver was not arrested and police are treating the incident as an accident.
