Salford stabbings: Two arrested for attempted murder in Lower Broughton machete attack

Police investigating a machete attack on a man in Salford have made two arrests.

Two men aged 25 and 33 have today, Wednesday 25 March, been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody.

At around 11.40pm on Friday 20 March, a 28-year-old man was attacked with a machete on Edward Street in Lower Broughton, near to the Palatine pub.

He suffered severe stab wounds to the neck, back and chest and was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but has since been discharged.

Detectives linked the stabbing to a ‘revenge’ attack the following day on Agecroft Road in Pendlebury, where a 29-year-old man was slashed with a machete, suffering serious wounds to his chest, neck and back.
