Despite the lowly league position, this is a side with frightening potential if they can keep them together for the new adventure in the GMCL.
Another solid partnership from the youngest openers in the league set the platform for a total of 212 and despite a lightning start from the visitors, the match finished with plenty left in the tank and the luxury of being able to allow Jack Barton to collect his first ever 1st XI wicket.
The 2nds got back to winning ways with another challenging total at Crompton and another great opening stand of 114, this time between Chris Lord (56 & 776 for the season) and Chris Royle (89) in a total of 272-5.
Crompton made a good fist of the response with 211-9 with Rob Reade taking 3-41.
