Police have issued an urgent warning to parents after two men tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl from a street in Salford.
Officers have issued an evo-fit of one of the men, and are asking parents to “take extra steps to protect their children” after the shocking incident.
At around 8.30pm on Friday 21 August, the 10-year-old victim was riding her bicycle along Duchy Road, Salford, near Central Avenue.
A silver car pulled up alongside her and the passenger tried to tempt the girl into the vehicle, telling her ‘Get in, your mum told me to pick you up’.
But the victim refused to go near the men and she cycled home, while the car drove off towards Bank Lane.

The driver of the car is described as mixed race, with a long beard, short afro hair and was wearing a gold ring on his left hand.
The passenger, the one pictured in the e-fit, is also described as mixed race, around 20-25 years old, with short black hair, a small pointy nose, and a swirl tattoo on his left arm.

Detective Constable Anthony Bleakley said: “This is an extremely worrying incident, which fortunately did not end with the young girl being taken or injured in any way.
“However, that does not change the fact that it is vital we catch these men as soon as possible to prevent any further attempts to snatch young children off the street.
“I would ask that anyone who believes they recognise the man pictured, or the driver of the car, to contact police as soon as possible.
“I would also urge parents to take extra steps to protect their children, particularly in the area in which this incident occurred.
“Remain vigilant, warn children about the dangers of talking to strangers and reduce the amount of time young children are out on the street unsupervised.
“These simple steps could ensure your child’s safety.”
