Little Hulton: Man, 48, shot through front window of Mossbrook Drive house

A man has been shot in the back in Little Hulton, Salford.

Armed police were called to a house on Mossbrook Drive in Little Hulton at midnight last night, Friday 9 October, to reports that a single gunshot had been fired through the front window.

Police cordoned off the house and are still on scene this morning, Saturday 10 October.

The victim is believed to have been sitting on his couch in the front room of the house at the time of the shooting.

He was hit in the back but escaped major injury.

It’s not yet known whether the shooter approached the house on foot or by car.

It’s understood the victim suffered only a flesh wound and was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital under armed guard.

Greater Manchester Police report the victim is 48, which conflicts with earlier indications locally that the victim was a 21-year-old man.

Local residents reported the sound of a single gunshot, followed by armed police, five police cars, a Tactical Aid Unit van along with two rapid response ambulances arriving at the scene.

It is understood to be a targeted attack.
