Worsley Rotary supports the homeless

Worsley Cares is a fundraising event in support of those groups that directly support the homeless.

Typical beneficiaries will be Coffee 4 Craig, Salford Loaves & Fishes, Barnabus, Mustard Tree,
Wood Street Mission and the Booth centre.

The event is a “Sleepover” and takes place overnight on the 9th October 2015 at the Middlewood Scout Camp. Worsley. We are very grateful for all the support given to us by the Scout Camp leaders in setting up the event and for their continuing support whilst the event is in progress.

All volunteer sleepers will be given 2 cardboard boxes to form a shelter and a large plastic bag and asked to ‘rough it’ for one night in order to raise money for the groups that directly support people who are homeless or for whatever reason are having to sleep rough. The Middlewood Scouts are providing sleepers with breakfast which in itself is a reason for volunteering !!

Volunteer sleepers are encouraged to raise as much money as they can by being sponsored by their family and friends. The age range for sleepers is 12+ so mums, dads and family groups can participate.
