Police say a man with a shotgun walked up to the front door of a Little Hulton house and fired off rounds in a suspected intimidation attempt.
Armed police locked down Gorse Drive in the early hours of Wednesday morning, cordoning off the entire street for around eight hours.
Detectives believe the man fired a single shot before escaping on foot.
